Stop Popups and Spyware/Adware

I recently made the mistake of thinking that I was protected from any kind of virus, spyware/adware, trojan etc. that could harm my computer or get my personal information. I was sure I was protected. I used 2 different adware/spyware programs, AOL and Earthlink security edition, Mcaffe Virus Scan, a Firewall and I deleted my internet cookies and files on a regular basis. Boy was I wrong.

I had been browsing the web when a website I had never heard of keep popping up instead of the site I was viewing. Then I would get an error message that some program was not working correctly and needed to send a report to Microsoft (which turned out to be totally bogus). Then I got a message from Mcaffe Virus Scan, that a Trojan (virus) had been detected and cleaned. So to be on the safe side, I ran a virus scan on my computer, ran my adware/spyware program, deleted my internet cookies and files. But I keep getting a Trojan (virus) and my computer was running very slowly. I could not understand why this was happening with all the safety devices I used.

I decided to try Stopzilla. I knew they had been around a long time and had gotten a lot of rave reviews. The reviews on Stopzilla were true. Stopzilla found and showed me the threats and corrected the problem (this bug was not detected/corrected by AOL spyware/adware or Mcafee). By the way, I got this Trojan by surfing the web not from my email.
